Proper makeup removal and skin cleansing are the foundation and an integral part of your daily routine. Wondering what makeup remover product to choose? Preferably one that effectively cleanses and conditions the skin from the first step. Learn cosmetologist's tips for choosing the best makeup remover.
As a cosmetologist, I have been selecting home care for nearly a decade. Although I watch trends and know almost every one – including the bestsellers, it is practice and years of testing on myself that allows me to make the most effective selection of cosmetics. Regardless of whether I test the largest bestseller, or a complete novelty on the market is verified by one factor – the effectiveness of the.
During cosmetology consultations, I am guided by steadfast principles. If you've consulted with me so far, you probably know that if I had to introduce just two things into your skincare routine, they would be: two-step cleansing and good sunscreen – without this, each subsequent care step has no chance of success.
I can recommend you hundreds of creams, serums, scrubs, ampoules or treatments – but I guarantee that none of them will have the desired results, if you don't take care of the basics.
Why facial cleansing is so important?
Surely you are wondering why such a seemingly trivial activity as cleansing the face is so important?
Here are two main reasons.
- Even the most expensive and best serum will not work on poorly cleansed skin. If your skin is covered with a layer of sebum, impurities, dead skin, then the active ingredients will not have a chance to reach the place where they can work effectively, and all the efforts of technologists to increase the penetration of substances deep into the skin – will be in vain.
- You can't get the results you want or improve the condition of your skin by still having a damaged hydrolipid barrier. A gel based on SLS (INCI: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, or SLES (INCI: Sodium Laureth Sulfate) will quickly deal with impurities, only that wreaks havoc on your skin's lipid balance and microbiome. Pulling and dry skin, while at the same time the skin secretes more sebum and small pimples appear... sounds familiar? Or maybe after removing makeup, big flushes appear on your cheeks from friction? You're waiting to apply a cream that you don't know yourself is already improving the situation? Whether your skin is tired of overly strong detergents or constant rubbing and mechanical damage to the hydrolipid barrier – know that there is a better way to do it!
Why you should cleanse your skin in two stages?
The two-step facial cleansing model, for years I have found to be the most effective – regardless of the form. If I'm working with a client who hasn't used two-step cleansing in her skincare routine until now, I know she'll be thrilled with the changes in just about 3 weeks!
Basic model of two-stage purification
The skin secretes various substances over the course of the day, some of which are water-soluble components (sweat, or natural moisturizing factor that takes care of the balance) – with their removal from the skin surface there is no problem – and sebum, which is sebum and based on fats.
Keep in mind that there are also care, protective, or beautifying products. One of the most important features sunscreen is durability, the better, the more effective the protection, but at the same time will be more difficult to remove. The same is true for makeup, it's perfect if the foundation lasts from morning to evening, but you may have a bigger problem with makeup removal.
So what is best for makeup removal?
Following the principle of "like dissolves into like," I believe that it is best to go for fat-based products, and the key ingredient of such a product should be emulsifier. It allows you to remove dirt and oil with just water, the residue can be handled calmly by a mild detergent.
You have skin oily, mixed, or tendency to imperfections and you are not convinced by oil-based formula? You may be encouraged by one reason – fighting blackheads.
Blackhead is nothing more than a mixture of dead skin and sebum. During a short massage of such blackheads, their top layer will begin to liquefy and combine with your makeup remover – with each successive short massage you will make them shallower.
Emulsifying makeup remover butter and SPF MELT WITH PASSION will be the ideal first step of a two-step skin cleansing.
The formula of the butter makes it melt under the influence of heat, velvety wrapping the skin, and after contact with water it turns into a milky emulsion. Effectively removes waterproof makeup i SPF, excess sebum and residual impurities that have accumulated on the skin during the day.
I am sure you will be delighted by the delicate fragrance of exotic passion fruit and innovative packaging with a convenient mechanism that allows you to perfectly dispense the right portion of the product. Thanks to it, the product does not come into contact with water during dispensing, and this ensures that it does not emulsify.
Use the butter as the first stage of facial cleansing. In the second stage of cleansing, choose your favorite gel or emulsion.
- for all skin types, especially dry and mature – MAKE IT CLEAR
- for normal and combination skin – CLEAN ME UP
- for dry and sensitive skin CLEANING ME SOFTLY
- for acne-prone, oily and combination skin DEEPLY PORE CLEANSING GEL
If you have been through various mixtures and feel that this method is not for you, then still maintain a two-step approach – regardless of the products you use.
Your skin care must include micellar lotion? I encourage you to use reusable cotton pads and minimize friction. Remember to dutifully wash it off afterwards gel or emulsion. Always. Even if the manufacturer writes on the package that you don't need – believe me, you do. Just as after lathering shampoo on your hair, don't get out of the shower without rinsing, always wash your face after micellar lotion.
You can also use the emulsion and gel cleansing model or cleanse the skin twice with a gel based on mild cleansing ingredients.
